If you don’t take care of your body, where are you going to live? ~Unknown

I woke up craving something healthy, which is rare since I usually go for something loaded with carbohydrates, fats and sugar.  A friend of mine has been trying to get me to drink smoothies so I figured I’d give it a try.  I searched on Google for a few local places and came across Tropical Smoothie Café which is on the route to work.  Let’s just say that I am a HUGE FAN!  The Island Green smoothie with spinach, kale, mango, pineapple and banana…YUM!!!!!!

Setting Goals

Goal

Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. ~Bob Proctor

When I set goals for myself, I become responsible for my own success or failures.  Goals force me to set priorities therefore limiting distractions and they help me in the decision making process including what direction I want my life to go in.  Goals should be attainable, so they should not be set so high or out of reach that I set myself up for failure or disappointment. Today I will start with one small goal and then work my way up to bigger ones each day. Before I know it, I will be exactly where I want to be or doing what I want to do.

Through loss…I found my blessings

Grief is in two parts. The first is loss. The second is the remaking of life. ~Anne Roiphe

In an instant, what was supposed to be the happiest moment in my life turned into every parent’s worst nightmare.  When the doctor’s told me my newborn didn’t make it, the pain was so overwhelming and I remember telling myself that I would never ever do this again; no more kids for me.  Fast forward twenty-seven years and I am the proud parent of two wonderful children and grandmother to three awesome boys.  I will never forget that day as it will forever haunt me but with support from family and friends, I made it through it.  As I look at these five miracles in my life, I know that even through great loss, there is always a blessing.
